We’re a group of young adults from Wotton-under-Edge and its surrounding villages.
The first Coronavirus lockdown hit our local highstreet businesses hard: most were already struggling prior to the lockdown but the lack of sales has pushed them to the brink. Some have already closed down permanently and more could be on the way. Now more than ever, it’s vital that we work together and step up to help them, before it’s too late…
We’ve worked closely with the Wotton Chamber of Trade to create a project that celebrates the unique ecosystem of Wotton. Together, we’ve financed and installed a set of beautiful waymarker posts throughout our local woodlands to show you the natural beauty of our home. Using a mobile phone, children of all ages can learn a critical and creative story about our town’s key ethos.
We hope you’ll join us on our mission to bring the Wotton experience back to life.

The Nature of Teamwork
“Jack is a true rugby fan. But when his favourite ball goes missing on one of the nicest days of the year, will he find it on his own or will he be forced to use some more interesting help?”
Update December 2020
Wotton Trails is a community initiative created by a group of students from KLB. You may have seen some of our work in Westridge Woods with our woodland marker posts.
Our original aim was to help local businesses bounce back from the first Coronavirus ‘lockdown’ by creating a new tourist attraction (and create some entertainment for residents at the same time). However, as you may have seen, things haven’t gone as planned:
Within 48 hours of us installing our brand-new woodland marker posts, the first of these posts was reporting missing. Since then, over 50% of our posts have been reported missing or have been damaged in some way. Fortunately, we’ve been lucky to receive sightings from local walkers and have managed to recover most of them (although one is still missing). Wotton Rugby Club has kindly offered to reinstall them for us but the second lockdown has halted some of their movements for now.
This is a frustrating situation for us and we’ve therefore made the decision to put the project ‘on hold’ in its current state until the new year. For now, you won’t be able to read the missing parts of the story or collect a reward at the end. However, our map remains on our website so that you can take a walk to see our progress and plans.
Thank you for your support so far. Stay safe, keep walking and we’ll be back with more updates soon,
The Wotton Trails Team.
